United We Shop, a Kentucky-themed vendor fair will be held in Georgetown, KY on Sunday, April 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m, according to their press release.

United We Shop will be hosted by University of Kentucky event planning students and United Talent at 101 Kaden Lane in Georgetown, KY.

The event will be held at an indoor concourse that will be transformed into a shopping area. The vendor booths will be set up around the perimeter.

The vendor fair will have activities planned for “families of all ages,” such as a children’s play area, coloring tables and a photobooth, according to Austin Short, director of public relations for United We Shop and a senior at the University of Kentucky. There will be nearly 30 local businesses selling products and food for all attendees.

“Guests will be able to walk around and browse the booths, and there will also be food and activities for families to enjoy,” Short said.

Admission to United We Shop is free and open to the public.

Short said this is the first year of United We Shop, and those hosting the vendor fair hope attendees enjoy it enough to want to come back.

“We are really excited to see how it goes and hope to make it an annual event,” Short said.

Short said there is expected to be a great turnout for the event, and they are hoping to see a lot of support for local businesses from the Georgetown and Lexington community.

UK students enrolled in the College of Communication and Information’s Department of Integrated Strategic Communication (ISC) event planning class this semester are partnering with United Talent and its United Fine Arts Academy to put on the fair.

“The Integrated Strategic Communication (ISC) major offers students professional preparation for careers in the allied areas of promotional communication, including advertising, public relations, direct response communication, sales promotion, social media promotion and the like,” the release said.

Short said everyone involved is excited for this event as they find it to be a great opportunity to support small businesses in our area.

“It’s a great way to show support for our community and the people who make it so special,” Short said.
