Kentucky mens tennis defeated SEC rival LSU convincingly on Wednesday to improve to an impressive 14-2 on the season.

The cold Lexington air brought out the best in the Cats, who won the doubles point as well as five of the six singles matches.

Kentucky won the first doubles match with the help of duo Alafia Ayeni and Taha Baadi as they defeated nationally ranked Stefan Latinovic and Nick Watson.

The Cats would then secure the doubles win with Liam Draxl and Jaden Weekes winning their match on court three.

UK never looked back after the impressive doubles wins, taking all but one of the singles matches to secure the 6-1 blowout victory.

Draxl, Weekes and Ayeni followed up their doubles performances with wins of their own, with Joshua Lapadat and Charlelie Cosnet also securing singles wins.

LSU’s Welsh Hotard won the Tigers their only point of the day with a win in the singles competition over Taha Baadi.

The Cats will return to the Boone Tennis Center on Saturday at 1 p.m. to take on conference rival Arkansas.
