UK’s first snow day of the year came today, as classes are canceled on Tuesday, Jan. 16.

Only Plan B, or designated, employees are required to report to work.

Snow fell through the night in Lexington, and it was about 14 degrees when the UK Alert was sent out about the cancelation. 

UK Campus Recreation tweeted that the Johnson Center will be open from noon to 5 p.m. today. 

Fayette County Public Schools were also closed Tuesday.
