A second man has been arrested as part of the investigation into the Maxwelton Court homicide and assault.

Austin J. Adams, 22, was arrested on Friday by Ashland Police Department officers, according to Lexington Police Department Public Information Officer Brenna Angel. 

Adams is currently lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center and is charged with Complicity to Assault 1st. 

On Sunday, UKPD responded to a car crash into a university-owned building on Maxwelton Court. It was determined on Monday that the two individuals in the car had been assaulted before the collision. The first arrest, of 24-year-old Chase W. Helvey, was made Thursday.
