Kentucky men’s golf earned its first tournament win since 2018, finishing one shot ahead of Ohio State to claim the Colleton River Collegiate title on March 1–2.
The Wildcats completed the 54-hole event at 11-under par after shooting 1-over as a team in the final round. Kentucky carried a one-shot lead into the second day after posting a strong 12-under score through the first two rounds.
The team got off to a fast start by playing steady golf early. Kentucky combined for 38 birdies and an eagle during the opening rounds while avoiding major mistakes. That consistency gave them just enough of an edge heading into the final round.
Senior captain Jack Schoenberger led the way for Kentucky all week, finishing as the individual runner-up at 8-under par. He shot rounds of 69, 68 and 71, staying under par each day and made just four bogeys during the tournament, tying for the fewest in the field. The result marked the best finish of his Kentucky career and his third top-five in two seasons.
Freshman Cole Stockard also played a major role, tying for fifth at 5-under par. He posted rounds of 71, 70 and 70, including a 2-under 70 in the final round and led the 92-player field with 16 birdies over the two days. It was his second top-five finish of the season.
Sophomore Jacob Lang added another solid performance, tying for 19th at even par. He shot 71, 71 and 74, counting toward the team score in all rounds. Lang helped Kentucky stay ahead late by making back-to-back birdies on holes No. 7 and No. 8 during the final round.
Junior Luke Coyle finished tied for 39th at 3-over par with scores of 73, 71 and 75. Jacob Settles bounced back from a rough first round, shooting 75 and 74 in the final two rounds to finish tied for 79th. Cameron Phillips, competing as an individual, finished tied for 48th at 5-over par.
