The Michael D. Rankin MD Health Education Building project is expected to be completed by spring 2027.
The project will impact 21 parallel E-intermediate parking spaces on southbound University Drive beginning March 13 at 5 p.m. and will be unavailable through October or November, according to a University of Kentucky Transportation Services email.
The weekday Blue Route bus stop and the Yellow Route weekend stop at Huguelet Drive will be temporarily relocated near the Lyman T. Johnson Hall, on University Drive.
Contractors are expected to install a fence along southbound University Drive starting as early as March 16. Pedestrians and cyclists’ access may be temporarily unavailable during this construction process.
University Drive traffic will remain open, according to the email.
Later this month, the Health Sciences Research Building Loop will close, and Orange Route buses will alter their route to accommodate this stage of the project.
