The University of Kentucky announced a $25 million plan to enhance and expand Kroger Field football stadium.
The Champions Blue LLC Board of Governors had a meeting Jan. 15, discussing “seven targeted upgrades” to the stadium, according to UKNow.
The upgrades in this plan include:
- North and south upper deck seatbacks
- Loge Club, which is a seating arena, and club seat infill
- New terrace-style “back-of-bowl” seating
- Scoreboard Patio Clubs
- A West End Zone Field Club
“These improvements are essential to remain competitive in an era defined by rapid change,” Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart said to FOX 56. “We must continue to build sustainable resources that support our student athletes, coaches, and fans for years to come. The vision and enhancements outlined today reflect responsible planning and a clear commitment to excellence.”
The projects are expected to create $4 million in incremental annual revenue for UK Athletics.
