Kentucky football (5-5, 2-5 SEC) rode a dominant offensive effort to a 42-10 win over Tennessee Tech (10-1, 7-0 OVC).
The Wildcats entered the game on back-to-back wins over Auburn and Florida.
The Golden Eagles came into Lexington with a perfect record and one of the most prolific offenses in FCS.
Kentucky won the toss and elected to defer to the second half.
Getting the ball second did not stop the offense from getting off to a hot start as they picked up three first downs before a 43-yard connection from Cutter Boley to Kendrick Law set up a Seth McGowan 1-yard score to open the scoring.
After the defense forced another punt, a short punt gave Boley and Co. advantageous field position, and they took advantage with a quick six-play touchdown drive.
This time, Boley scrambled out of the pocket and tight roped down the sideline before leveling a defender to reach the endzone for a 30-yard rushing score.
As the contest moved into the second quarter, the offense was forced to punt for the first time in its third drive after some penalties set them back.
However, McGowan punched it in from 4-yard out on the ensuing drive to extend the lead to 21-0.
The Golden Eagles responded as the first half neared an end, the Golden Eagles put a touchdown that cut the lead to 21-7.
This was short-lived as a 40-yard return by Kendrick Law paired with a 15-yard penalty gave Kentucky great field position.
Connections of 19 and 20 yards from Boley to Law and Ja’Mori Maclin set up a 1-yard McGowan score to boost the lead to 28-7 at the half.
After punting out of the locker room, Tennessee Tech put up a field goal to cut into the deficit.
The next drive on offense for the Wildcats was a long and methodical one as they moved the ball 42-yard in 11 plays.
Despite the drive starting slow, fireworks closed it as Boley hit Hardley Gilmore IV for a 45-yard score that made the score 35-10.
Dante Dowdell found his way into the endzone with a 19-yard run with a little under 11 minutes left in the game that closed the scoring.
Law set career highs in both receptions and yards on senior day with marks of 11 and 124 respectively.
Boley came out of the game midway through the fourth quarter and finished 18-21 with 236 yards along with a passing and rushing touchdown.
Freshman Brennen Wade got some playing time for the first time this season and his career by playing the remainder of the game under center for Kentucky.
With the win, Kentucky will only need to win one of its next two games to return to a bowl game after missing out on one last season.
The victory rounded out the 2025 home slate for the Wildcats, where they finished 4-3 on the year.
Two road games await the Wildcats as they will face Vanderbilt and Louisville to close out the year.
