The formal addition of Kaelyn Carroll, a wing in the class of 2025, to the McDonald’s All-American Game East team was made public on Monday, sparking excitement for Kentucky women’s basketball fans.
Carroll is the first Kentucky commit to receive the honor since Treasure Hunt in 2020, which is an important moment for the Kentucky women’s basketball team and Head Coach Kenny Brooks.
Carroll has had an incredible journey to get to this position as she has continuously proven her abilities on the court. Her place in the McDonald’s All-American Game is evidence of her dedication.
After averaging 13.7 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game in 2023–24, she was selected to the All-Independent School League First Team.
She shot 42.5% (65-of-153) from the floor and 35.8% (29-of-81) from the range for 13.1 points per game in fifteen games with the Bay State Jaguars the next summer. In 2024, she also added 101 rebounds, 23 assists, 20 blocks and 18 steals.
The next phase of Carroll’s bright future is strongly anticipated by the Kentucky basketball community.
Fans can watch Carroll play at 6:30 p.m. on April 1 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, on ESPN2.
