After a tie with Louisville and beating Conference USA opponent UAB, the UK men’s soccer team swept the C-USA Player of the Week awards for the first time all season.

Goalkeeper Enrique Facusse was named the Defensive Player of the Week while Mikkel Pederson was named the Offensive Player of the Week.

This is Facusse’s second week in a row winning the C-USA Defensive Player of the Week. Facusse recorded four saves in both games played last week, including not allowing a goal against UAB.

Pederson scored a goal in both games last week, including the game winner against UAB in the 86th minute. Pederson is tied for first on the team with the most goals scored.

Pederson, Facusse and the Cats will be back in action on Sept. 12, when Cincinnati travels to Lexington to take on UK at The Bell Soccer Complex. The game will start at 7:30 p.m.
