The Associated Press’ preseason top 25 poll for women’s basketball was released on Monday morning, and Kentucky was not ranked on this list

University of Connecticut unanimously took the No. 1 spot on that list. Last season the Cats were ranked at No. 19, and this was their seventh time being ranked in the AP top 20.

The women will have to face multiple teams that are ranked in the preseason top 25 this year, including South Carolina, Mississippi State, Louisville and Missouri, just to name a few.

The Cats will have to fight this season to get their recognition on the Associated Press’ top 25 list this season while going against their ranked opponents.

They play their first game against a ranked team on Nov. 30, facing No. 3 Baylor in Waco, Texas.
