While normally taking the court in UK blue and white, Kentucky volleyball superstar Brooklyn DeLeye added some red to her uniform as she represented USA Volleyball in the 2025 Pan Am Cup tournament.
Beyond just being on the team, DeLeye was dubbed the team captain for the event that sees players representing different nations around the world come together to face-off against one another.
DeLeye and her teammates went undefeated in the tournament and captured the gold medal for USA Volleyball as they went a perfect 5-0 in the event and did not lose one set in those five wins.
Play began on July 22nd when USA swept Canada and carried on over the next two days where DeLeye and company added Puerto Rico and Chile to the sweep list.
After starting 3-0, the team was given a bye in the event before defeating Canda and Chile over the past two days to capture the gold in convincing fashion.
This marks the third straight time that the U.S. has won the tournament.
DeLeye continues to flourish in her volleyball career ahead of her third season at UK, where she will enter as the reigning SEC Player of the Year.
Coming into the 2025 season, DeLeye has already landed on the American Volleyball Coaches’ Association 2025 Player of the Year Watch List. The junior is also on the Preseason All-SEC Team to begin the season as well.
Kentucky volleyball will begin its season in around a month’s time on Saturday, August 30, at Lipscomb as they search for their ninth straight SEC Title and second National Championship.
