Kentucky gymnastics wins tri-meet, posts highest away score in program history

No. 12 Kentucky gymnastics posted an overall score of 197.800 to best both No. 22 Illinois (196.800) and Illinois State (193.850) at the Mental Wellness Meet inside George Huff Hall in Champaign, Illinois.

The tri-meet closed Kentucky’s 2023 meet campaign as it posted its third highest overall score in program history and its highest away score in program history.

The Wildcats started out on the bars with sophomore Jillian Procasky setting a new season-high, scoring a 9.875 on the event.

Senior Raena Worley and junior Bailey Bunn tied season highs, with Bunn scoring a 9.900 and Worley scoring a 9.925. Worley took the overall bar title as well.

Kentucky would then move on to the balance beam with Worley scoring a near perfect 9.975 and junior Isabella Magnelli putting up a 9.900.

Kentucky tied its fourth-best score in program history as it moved on to the floor. Worley led all gymnasts as she tied her career high and set a new season high, scoring a 9.975.

Other personal records were tied on the floor as Procasky tied her career high with a 9.850 and Magnelli tied her season high with a score of 9.900.

Fifth year student Arianna Patterson and junior Hailey Davis both recorded respectable scores, with Patterson scoring a 9.900 and Davis recording a 9.950 on the floor.

The Wildcats moved on to their final rotation on the vault with Procasky setting another season high with a 9.875.

Worley and sophomore Makenzie Wilson both scored a 9.900 while freshman Bridget Bourque scored a 9.875.

Worley added another overall scoring title to her count, making it 19 in her career as she posted a season-high score of 39.775.

Procasky also made her mark as she placed second overall and posted an overall career-high of 39.450.

With the Wildcats rounding out their final meet of the regular season, they will look on to the postseason which will take place in Duluth, Georgia, on Saturday, March.18.
