After exchanging buckets to follow the chaotic start, Kentucky would get back into the game off an 11-2 run in the last two minutes of the first quarter to bring the score to 25-15 to round up the first stanza of play.

The second quarter would continue to see both sides exchange buckets, but Tennessee would go on yet another run, outscoring the Wildcats 12-3 to finish up the first half with the Vols leading at 45-28.

Tennessee went on an 8-0 run during the scoring drought to bring the score to 55-32 halfway through the third.

The rest of the third would continue to see the Vols pull away from the Cats who, from the beginning tip off, had to play catch-up the rest of the game with the score at 68-41 heading into the final quarter of play of the regular season.
