Suspect charged with murder for off-campus shooting

There is one person in custody in connection to the homicide of Clinton Brown, 21, according to a press release from Lexington Police Department’s (LPD) Public Information Office issued on Friday, May 5. 

Brown was found with a gunshot wound by LPD in the Pine Street and Jersey Street area just after midnight on Friday, May 5, according to LPD’s initial statement on the investigation. 

Later, after being transported to the hospital, he was pronounced deceased. 

According to the recent release, as the investigation progressed, investigators identified the suspect as 19-year-old Jamierion Allen. 

Investigators obtained an arrest warrant and with the help of the Kentucky State Police, Allen was arrested,” the release said. 

According to the release, Allen is facing a murder charge and is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.
