UK Baseball dropped its third straight Friday to Tennessee by a final score of 14-5.

Cats starter Zack Brown continued to struggle, allowing nine runs on 10 hits over five innings of work. Brown is now 0-3 in SEC starts and 1-5 on the year as UK’s Friday arm.

The Vols erupted for nine runs against Brown as Nick Senzel and Jordan Rodgers led the way. The duo combined for 11 RBI, five runs scored and five extra base hits. Rodgers had a monster day himself, hitting for the cycle.

On offense for the Cats, all five RBI came from the top of the lineup. Evan White and Gunnar McNeill drove in four of the five. White and McNeill also extended their hitting streaks to 19 and 21 games respectively. McNeill now holds the UK record for most consecutive games with a hit.

The Cats will look to even the series Saturday when 6-0 Dustin Beggs gets the ball in game two against the Vols. First pitch is set for 4 p.m.
