UK head football coach Mark Stoops and Kentucky Children’s Hospital officials snipped ribbons on the hospital’s new Hall of Champions Tuesday.

The Hall of Champions is a UK Athletics-themed hallway, a press release said. The ribbon-cutting ceremony happened at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

“The walls are covered ceiling to floor in iconic images of UK athletes and coaches,” a press release said. The athletes’ biographies are with the images. The hallway leads to a landing with a mural of Commonwealth Stadium.

Stoops, former UK football player Randall Cobb, former UK men’s basketball player Jamal Mashburn and former UK gymnast Jenny Hansen are among those represented on the wall, a press release said.

Stoops and the UK football coaching staff led events and initiatives that raised $300,000 for the Hall of Champions, a press release said.
