Fayette County Circuit Court denied former University of Kentucky student, Sophia Rosing’s, shock probation request on Wednesday, March 12, according to court documents.
After consideration, the court concluded “shock probation would unduly depreciate the seriousness of the offenses.”
Rosing was convicted of one count of disorderly conduct, one count of alcohol intoxication and four counts of fourth-degree assault in October 2024, where she was sentenced to 12 months in jail.
Rosing was charged after an altercation with a student dorm front desk worker, Kylah Spring, where a video showed Rosing verbally and physically assaulting Spring repeatedly, calling her a racial slur.
According to the Kentucky Kernel, four months after being sentenced, Rosing’s defense requested she be released on shock probation and the rest of her sentence be suspended under strict probation terms.

I hope she serves every day, hour, minute and second of her sentence. She got just what she deserved!

Well she was guilty no doubt about it. But you got people who commit felonies who get less time. She has already been punished with time more than enough. Good wake up call for her. There is no need for her to be in prison or jail any longer let her serve out her time benefiting the public. Tho is stupid and some judge is getting off on this.

Shut up. She’s in jail where she BELONGS & will remain there until her sentence is complete. Hope she’s enjoying the food.
