Muhammad Ali Jr., 44-year-old son of boxer and Louisville native Muhammad Ali, was detained in a Florida airport earlier this month.

Ali Jr. was traveling back to the U.S. with his mother after speaking at a Black History Month event in Jamaica when he was questioned for hours by immigration officials. The family lawyer, Chris Mancini, claims the officials acted with discrimination against the Ali’s Arabic-sounding names.

Ali Jr. identified himself as a Muslim when asked by the officials, which led to further questioning about his place of birth and where his name came from.

The Ali family, clearly distressed by the perceived discrimination, are thinking of filing a lawsuit, according to their lawyer.
