On Friday October 21, 2016, UK’s Board of Trustee’s approved for construction to begin on a new $49 million baseball stadium and facility, and on Thursday, March 2, UK broke ground at the site.

UK President Dr. Eli Capilouto along with University Athletics Board Chairman Dr. C.B. Akins Sr., Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart, and head coach Nick Mingione, spoke at the ceremony Thursday which took place at the site of the new stadium.

The project is projected to be completed in the Fall of 2018, and is set to host its first home game in the 2019 season.
