After the first day of UK football’s training camp, the Cats have added John Jancek to the staff as an off-the-field analyst. The news was first reported by Jimmy Hyams.

Jancek spent last season as the safeties coach at South Florida. Before that he spent three years as Tennessee’s defensive coordinator, where the Volunteers ranked 36th nationally in total defense in 2015.

Jancek joins a staff that has plenty of experience in defensive coaching. Mark Stoops, Steven Clinksdale and Dean Hood all have had experience as a defensive coordinator in the past, along with current UK defensive coordinator Matt House.
