The 2018 UK baseball schedule was released on Monday afternoon and includes instate rival Louisville among many other competitive clubs from all over the U.S., making it one of the hardest schedules in the country.

The season will open with a four-game tournament at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, before the Cats return to Cliff Hagan Stadium for their final season in the home opener against Xavier.

The Cats will play a number of non-conference games before opening SEC play in March.

UK will face several teams who qualified and competed in the NCAA Tournament in the 2017 season, including the 2017 College World Series Champion Florida Gators.

The Cats will finish their regular season against Vanderbilt in hopes of gaining momentum as they transition to postseason play before they head to Hoover, Alabama, for the SEC Tournament.

After losing key offensive players to the 2017 MLB Draft, the transfers and new recruits have big shoes to fill. With three starting pitchers returning and the additions to the roster, the Cats hope to have another successful season and chase after their first title in program history.
