The wait is finally over for the UK women’s volleyball team. It was announced Sunday during the Bracket Selection Event that the team entered as the No. 4 seed in the 2017 NCAA volleyball tournament.

While the top four seeds were revealed several minutes before the event, the event itself showed the rest of the tournament field, and who the Cats would be playing on the road to a potential national championship.

The Cats’ seed means that they will have a great home-court advantage for their tournament games until the Final Four, unless they lose before then. The first round will be played at Memorial Coliseum.

After winning the SEC championship on Friday, Nov. 24, the 26-3 team is preparing to perform just as well in the NCAA tournament.

The Wildcats will be hosting the 19-11 East Tennessee State team on Friday, Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. The tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 27. Should the Cats defeat the Pirates, they’ll face the winner of the first round match between Notre Dame and Western Kentucky.
