With finals finally over, now is the opportunity to take time for yourself and catch up on Netflix movies and shows over Winter Break.

Until Netflix invents a shuffle button, here are four recommendations that may get you into the holiday spirit, or at least keep your mind off college until classes start in January.

A Christmas Inheritance

One of the latest movies to join Netflix’s holiday movie line-ups is “A Christmas Inheritance.” The movie stars Eliza Taylor, who most notably plays Clarke in “The 100,” as a multi-million-dollar company heiress who wants to prove to her parents that she can be responsible and do things on her own. Therefore, her father tasks her with delivering letters to her uncle and making the trip with only $100. While the movie repeats the classic trope of a spoiled person finally discovering the true meaning of the holiday season, this movie is a good choice for a quick movie to watch with your family and friends.

Mariah Carey’s Merriest Christmas

Probably the most widely-played Christmas album of our time is Mariah Carey’s 1994 “Merry Christmas.” Luckily, the pop star hosted a Hallmark holiday special with friends in 2015 that is still available on Netflix. The show features skits, guests and an array of Carey’s classics. However, you’ll have to wait until the end to hear everyone’s favorite, “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”

Fireplace and Melodies for the Holidays

Some families elect to play holiday music when opening gifts during parties, and this movie provides just that, along with the added bonus of a crackling fireplace. This two-hour video shows embers crackle in a fireplace whilst classic holiday tunes play in the background. The beautiful piano instrumentals make viewers feel almost as warm as they would with an actual fireplace.

Not feeling festive? Try Hemlock Grove

This Netflix Original series is a frequently overlooked gem. With three seasons, this horror show centers around a series of strange murders in Hemlock Grove, a small town in Pennsylvania, and the supernatural secrets of its residents. Fans of the 2017 thriller “It” will recognize Bill Skarsgård, who stars as one of this series’ main characters. After you finish binge-watching this midway through Winter Break, you can pick up the book of the same name.
