Baseball is back in season and it’s officially time for Kentucky baseball’s encore presentation to its best season in program history.
After finishing with a 46-16 record in 2024, the 2025 schedule for the Bat Cats is filled with new opponents and 11 2024 NCAA Tournament teams, including both teams from the championship series.
While love will be in the air on Feb. 14, Kentucky will make its 2025 debut in a three-game series on the road against the Lipscomb Bison.
Like last season, the Wildcats will make their Kentucky Proud Park debut against Morehead State on Feb. 18.
For its second weekend of action, Kentucky will head back to Nashville to take on Belmont for the first time in program history in a three-game set from Feb. 21-23.
The Evansville Aces are the first NCAA Tournament team on the schedule for the Bat Cats and they will head into Lexington for a midweek matchup on Feb. 25.
Just a few days later, Big Blue Nation will have its first chance to see the Cats in action for a weekend series when they host Hofstra from Feb. 28-March 2.
The next action for Kentucky requires a trip to Richmond, Kentucky, for the first of two home-and-home series of the year as it will take on Eastern Kentucky on March 4, then host the Colonels the following day.
Thanks to the extra midweek game, Kentucky’s longest week of the year will conclude with a home weekend series against its second tournament team of the year in the form of the Wofford Terriers from March 7-9.
The series against the Terriers wraps up non-conference play and Kentucky will begin its quest to become back-to-back regular season SEC Champions with a road series against Georgia on March 14-16. The Bulldogs are the third NCAA Tournament team on the docket for the Cats.
Kentucky returns back to midweek action and Lexington on March 18 for a matchup with Murray State.
For the first SEC home series, the Bat Cats will welcome the Auburn Tigers for a three-game set on March 21-23.
After a canceled midweek matchup late last season, Kentucky and Xavier will try to square off again on March 25 in Lexington.
The Bat Cats’ next opponent was one-half of the NCAA Championship series and consensus preseason No. 1: the Texas A&M Aggies. The Cats will be on the road for the three-game set on March 28-30.
As the calendar flips to April, Kentucky will get a break in the midweek action and return home for a weekend set against Ole Miss on April 3-5.
A few days later on April 8, the Bat Cats will begin their second home-and-home series, this time against the rival Louisville Cardinals. Kentucky will travel to Louisville for the first game of two.
Unlike the EKU series, these will not be played on consecutive days.
With the SEC expansion coming to the diamond in 2025, Kentucky will welcome Texas into KPP for a weekend set on April 11-13.
The series against the Longhorns begins a back half of the season where all remaining weekend opponents were in the NCAA Tournament last season.
The Wildcats next opponent they will face is Miami (OH) at home on April 15.
Up next for the Bat Cats is a road series against the defending National Champion Tennessee Volunteers from April 18-20.
Kentucky will finish off its series against Louisville at home on April 22.
The Cats will remain home for the weekend to welcome South Carolina for a three-game set on April 25-27.
In its final competition in April, Kentucky will take a trip to Western Kentucky for a battle with the Hilltoppers on April 29.
The Bat Cats’ first action in May will be a weekend road series in Starkville, Mississippi, on May 2-4 against the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
With no midweek competition, Kentucky welcomes SEC newcomer Oklahoma to KPP for a three-game set May 9-11.
In their final midweek game of the year, the Wildcats will host Northern Kentucky on May 13.
Kentucky will finish its regular season in the same place it began as it will head back to Nashville for a weekend series against Vanderbilt on May 15-17.
After such a historic season in 2024, the next chapter in Kentucky baseball history is just days away from first pitch.
