The Kentucky boxing club is hosting its second fight night of the calendar year on Nov. 23 at 7 p.m. ET, featuring 10 bouts at Thrive Tribe Boxing and Fitness in Lexington, Kentucky.
One day prior, on Nov. 22 at 5 p.m., the club held a press conference in the Gatton Student Center Senate Chamber where all 10 matchups weighed in, faced-off and engaged in some mostly friendly banter pre-fight in front of media and fans.
The press conference was hosted by club member Brayden Sosa, who was responsible for introducing the fighters, announcing their weights and asking a few questions to get the ball rolling.
Fight night will take place at Thrive Tribe Boxing and Fitness located at 182 Turner Commons Way in Lexington at 7 p.m. with free admission for all the fights.

Hometown: Bath County, Kentucky

Pre-fight notes and quotes:
- Both Webb and Justice are stepping in the ring for the first time and, unlike the first matchup, there isn’t a whole lot of animosity between the two fighters.
- “I’m kind of a chill guy,” Justice said. “It doesn’t mean you can underestimate me. I’m gonna kick your ass.”
- “A lot of working on my endurance, a lot of trying to run father, run faster, jump higher, punch harder,” Webb said regarding his preparation. “In general getting in the best shape I can.”
- “I’m not going to get knocked out,” Justice ensured.
- While much more tame than the first bout, Justice-Webb promises to deliver quality skill and endurance based boxing based on mechanics as opposed to anger.

Pre-fight notes and quotes:
- There is about a six-inch height difference between Blevins and Chen, with the former standing at approximately 6-foot-5 and Chen claiming to be 5-foot-11 with his hair fluffed up.
- “I’m gonna be able to get in and out and just get you out,” Chen said of how his height is an advantage as opposed to a disadvantage. “Let me get you in a corner and knock you out.”
- “If you can get inside my guard, you have a chance,” Blevins admitted. “If you can’t, you don’t at all.”
- Another fight without much bitterness, with the pair agreeing to get Cook Out together after the fight. The loser will foot the bill.

Pre-fight notes and quotes:
- Both fighters are entering their first official fights, though they have sparred together in practice.
- Oliphant requested to spar again, but Winn declined after finding out the pair would meet in the squared circle. Winn stated he wanted to, “Keep distance and save it for the fight.”
- “I’m gonna try and make my wife and kid proud,” Oliphant said with pride.
- A fun introductory fight for both fighters, but don’t overlook this one on the card. Both fighters swing hard and fast and one well-landed strike could put either down for the count.
Fight No. 5: Adam “Burfict” Speridakos vs. Hunter “Wraith” Williams
Contestant one: Adam Speridakos

Hometown: Mixco, Guatemala
Year: TBA

Pre-fight notes and quotes:
- Williams, the club president, is coming off his first career loss while Speridakos will enter coming off his first career win.
- “I think I’ll get a good knockout,” a confident Speridakos said heading into a battle with a more experienced and skilled opponent. “Respectfully, Hunter is too good of a fighter to know when, but I’ll get a knockout.”
- “Once I get in that ring and we touch gloves and the first bell rings, you’re not going to be ready,” An unintimidated Williams warned his opponent.
- “All respect going in, it takes a lot of guts to get in the ring with somebody,” Williams said of Speridakos’ willingness to fight him.
- Two of the more experienced fighters going into the card, fans should expect a great fight regardless of the outcome. While too early to call a “fight of the night,” eyes should be on this one to deliver with two skilled and aggressive fighters.
Fight No. 6: Adam “Wildman” Wellens vs. Jason Stroud
Contestant one: Adam Wellens
Weight: 149 pounds
Hometown: Cincinnati, Ohio
Year: Sophomore
Record: 0-0-1
Contestant two: Jason Stroud
Weight: 164.2 pounds
Hometown: Centerville, Ohio
Year: TBA
Record: N/A
Pre-fight notes and quotes:
- Wellens reached a draw in his first fight during the most recent UK boxing fight night after receiving a point deduction for tossing his opponent to the ground at the conclusion of the third round.
- “I’m going to kill him,” Wellens said. Sharing an opposite view of the fight, Stroud followed this comment by saying, “I think boxing is a sport of athleticism, not killing. While I might kick his ass, I don’t want to hurt him.”
- “I’m really hoping he’s evolved since then,” Stroud said when asked about Wellen’s antics that earned him the point deduction. “I’m not super worried about him getting angry.”
- “I either go out standing or I go out on the canvas,” Wellens said. When asked if he had any plans to “try anything stupid,” Wellens said, “Yes, I’m going to try stupid things if I can get away with it.”
- This one is sure to be an unorthodox fight and perhaps the biggest wildcard of the event.
Fight No. 7: Aydin “Monkey” Khosrowshahi vs. Angus “The Rocket” Thompson
Contestant one: Aydin Khosrowshahi
Weight: 150.4 pounds
Hometown: Lexington, Kentucky

Contestant two: Angus Thompson
Weight: 156.4 pounds
Hometown: Louisville, Kentucky
Year: Freshman
Record: 3-0
Pre-fight notes and quotes:
- The age gap between the competitors is something to keep an eye on going in. While Thompson is just a freshman, he holds a 3-0 record as opposed to the older Khosrowshahi, who has never had a fight before.
- These fighters were also the closest in weight during weigh-ins, checking in just six pounds apart.
- “I’m just going to out fight him,” Thompson said with confidence. “I’m very confident in my ability to stay calm and do what I came here to do.”
- Thompson intends to focus on continuing his training in the fight as he seeks to become a professional boxer.
- “I’ve been training to catch him,” Khosrowshahi said, aware of his underdog status. “I’m going to catch him.”
- This fight promises to be an interesting one with two well-rounded boxers with similar statures, but a runaway by the far more experienced Thompson would not be shocking. The Rocket will be looking to prove and make a name for himself in the bout as an underdog.
Fight No. 8: Tyler “2FlyTye” Blakey vs. Terrence Redford
Contestant one: Tyler Blakey
Weight: 175.2 pounds
Hometown: Louisville, Kentucky
Year: Junior
Record: N/A
Contestant two: Terrence Redford
Weight: 185.4 pounds
Hometown: Johannesburg, South Africa
Year: Junior
Record: N/A
Pre-fight notes and quotes:
- A hostile matchup between ambitious rookies, Redford and Blakey seemed ready to rip each other apart at the press conference.
- “I think I’m better than Tyler,” Redford said. “I’m stronger, smarter and just a better boxer. Tyler thinks he’s quick. Calls himself 2FlyeTye, but I know he’s not quick enough to beat me.”
- “You gas out after 20 seconds. You go against beginners and you get cooked, I spar heavyweights for fun,” Blakey responded. “I’m prepared for everything you wanna do. When I punch you in the [expletive] jaw, you’re gonna think differently and when I punch you in the [expletive] stomach, you’re gonna think differently.
- “You don’t realize the skill I got on you,” Redford said. “I’ll let you pick which hand you get [expletive] up with.”
- Both fighters have made it abundantly clear they intend to win one way: knockout.
Fight No. 9: Braden Hough vs. Jackson Hall
Contestant one: Braden Hough
Weight: 208.6 pounds
Hometown: Louisville, Kentucky
Year: Junior
Record: 0-1
Contestant two: Jackson Hall
Weight: 202.8 pounds
Hometown: Clay City, Kentucky
Year: Junior
Record: N/A
Pre-fight notes and quotes:
- Hough-Hall will mark the first heavyweight bout of the night and the penultimate fight period.
- “Since the last fight, I’ve learned a lot,” Hough said of his record. “One of my biggest things was getting in my head too much and brawling. This time I do not expect the same thing. I am ready for a switch up.”
- “I think you’re an idiot if you go into the ring expecting an easy fight,” Hall said.
- Hall also admitted he hopes Hough will fall back into old habits and tire himself out early, saying, “I don’t think my cardio is that good, I just think I can control the pace of the fight.”
- Both men expressed a disinterest in engaging in too much talk on the podium and an extreme interest in letting their ring work do the talking. Fans should expect a fun heavyweight duel.
Fight No. 10: Aidan Greenwell vs. Declan Ochoa
Contestant one: Aidan Greenwell
Weight: 221 pounds
Hometown: Cincinnati, Ohio
Year: Junior
Record: 0-1
Contestant two: Declan Ochoa
Weight: 206.2 pounds
Hometown: Chicago, Illinois
Year: Freshman
Record: N/A
Pre-fight notes and quotes:
- While both Greenwell and Ochoa have been training, the latter took this fight at the last second, having just over a week’s notice he’d be on the card.
- “I feel like I’m in a position that I’m very comfortable with,” Greenwell said, stating he hoped to get into a steady and calm groove to bounce back from his first fight loss. “Keeping yourself composed under pressure is a great trait to have, I’m glad I have it.”
- “I don’t think anyone has seen me fight before, so I have a lot to prove,” Ochoa admitted. “I’m gonna attack that body the whole fight and I’m going to wear him down.”
- “I’m a killer,” Greenwell said. “I’m a hitman (and a) sniper. I go in and do what I do.”
- Rounding out the event, Greenwell-Ochoa promises to be a thrilling bout between two hard-hitting heavyweights to finish on a high note.
