Kentucky would answer back quickly by winning the third and fourth set with ease, 25-16.
Esteemed sophomore Brooklyn DeLeye was the star of the game as she tied her career high with 25 kills.
After the match, DeLeye talked about having a year under her belt as key to her early success this season.
“I think having that year of experience really has helped,” DeLeye said. “I think my awareness on the court has grown so much in the past year and I think that’s really contributed to it.”
Sophomore Molly Tuozzo also got her first start at libero in a Kentucky uniform and finished with a team-high 15 digs.
The Wildcats have two strong options with senior Eleanor Beavin usually playing the libero position. Beavin was on the Preseason All-SEC Team.
