Kentucky men’s and women’s cross-country teams both finished in sixth place at the Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on Oct. 13.
The men’s side finished with 152 points in the men’s 8000 meter race while the women put up 186 points in the women’s 6000 meter race.
Wildcats Jake Allen and Ally Krueger finished first for their respective teams for the third consecutive race.
All eight runners on the men’s side finished in the top 100 while eight of the 13 women also placed in the top 100.
For the men’s team, Allen improved his career-high finish, placing eighth with a time of 23:55.0.
Ed Bird was the second to finish for the Wildcats with a time of 24:17.8 while Harper Moore finished 35th with a time of 24:45.1.
Alex Alston finished 49th with a time of 24:59.6 and Jackson Watts finished 53rd with a time of 24:59.6 to finish out the Wildcats scoreboard.
For the women’s team, Krueger finished 11th with a time of 20:31.6.
Jenna Schwinghamer finished 33rd with a time of 20:59.3 while Phoebe McCowan and Mollie Roden finished 44th and 49th with times of 21:07.0 and 21:11.9, respectively.
Julz Williams finished 5th for the Wildcats and 52nd overall with a time of 21:15.1.
Krueger’s time of 20:31.6 improved her personal best by 25 seconds and Williams improved her personal best by 9 seconds.
Alex Alston of the men’s team ran a personal best of 24:57.9.
The next meet for the Wildcats will be on Friday, Oct. 27, at the SEC Championships hosted by the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina.
