Professor Brandi N. Frisby will serve as the acting dean of the College of Communication and Information (CI), according to an email sent out by Provost Dr. Robert S. DiPaola on Sept. 25.
After 13 years of being part of the UK faculty, Frisby will be acting dean effective Oct. 1.
“I am confident that she — working together with the talented faculty and staff in CI — will continue the momentum established by the college in advancing the mission of the university,” DiPaola said.
According to the email, Frisby has published over 80 journal articles and held various positions at CI such as associate dean for student success, director of a graduate council and the senior associate dean.
Provost DiPaola said he was “pleased” to inform the UK campus community that Frisby will serve as acting dean of CI.
Frisby earned her Ph.D. from West Virginia University prior to joining the UK faculty, according to the email from DiPaola.
She has been named in the top 1% of prolific communication researchers during her time at UK.
“I appreciate Dr. Frisby’s willingness to step into this role,” DiPaola said.
