Judge Gillispie on coaching, not clothing

With a bit of astonishment and some amusement, I recently read a comment in the Kernel’s sports section concerning the attire of men’s basketball head coach Billy Gillispie. It seems some folks were upset that for one game he chose to wear a yellow tie and charcoal suit on the sidelines as opposed to “being blue.”

We should not care if he wears a purple coat, chartreuse slacks and a paisley tie as long as he wins games. I am a diehard Wildcat supporter, but this criticism of the new coach is ridiculous. We are supposed to be basketball fans, not the fashion police.
