Students tweet to show support of 9/11

Students can tweet what they plan to do to remember 9/11 and then see their tweets on a projecter today at the Student Center Patio.

The Center for Community Outreach is putting on the “I Will” Twitter wall where people can tweet to @UKCCO with the hashtag #iwill to show support.

“Its a technological advance from writing on a sheet,” said Jillian Pyatte, the coordinator of community outreach in the Office of Student Involvement at UK.

She said it is the first time they are using the twitter wall, and hopes many people will tweet at CCO.

There also is an opportunity to write thank you notes to the local Fire Station No. 6, which services campus, and there will be a viewing of the documentary, “9/11 The Firefighter’s Story” at 6 p.m. in Student Center room 106.

“What we are hoping is that not only people who are physcially here (can tweet), but people can also tweet from home,” Pyatte said.

People can see their tweets from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Patio.
