The deadline to apply for the Wildcat Interest Group’s summer internships in Washington, D.C. is Thursday, March 1.

The Wildcats in Washington internship program secured unpaid internships specifically for UK students for the summer of 2012. The internships are open to all UK students returning for the fall 2012 semester, and Student Government is providing a $1,500 living stipend for those selected.

The following applications are still being accepted:

  • Office of Congressman Geoff Davis
  • Office of Senator Rand Paul
  • Office of Congressman Ben Chandler (6th District students only)
  • Office of Congressman Hal Rogers (5th District students only)
  • Office of Congressman Brett Guthrie (2nd District students only)

Students who do not know their Congressional district can go to the Kentucky Voter Information Center to see their registration and district information.

A one-page application sheet and the corresponding Congressional Internship application for the Congressman you are applying to are required, said Kyle Snapp, SG deputy chief of communications, in an email to the Kernel. Those documents and all additionally-required materials should be completed and submitted by 3 p.m. to the Student Government office, in room 120 of the Student Center, he said.
