CBSSports.com report: NCAA warning schools to be wary over Muhammad’s eligibility

The NCAA is warning schools recruiting Shabazz Muhammad “of financial dealings that could compromise Muhammad’s amateur status,” according to a CBSSports.com report.

UK would be one of those schools. The Cats are considered among the favorites to land Muhammad, the No. 2 prospect in the Class of 2012.

According to the article, the NCAA is looking into Muhammad’s relationship with two financial advisers, one of whom paid for some of Muhammad’s unofficial visits.

The adviser acknowledged that he funded unofficial visits but insisted he believes he acted within the rules.

The NCAA told the schools they are free to continue recruiting Muhammad but wanted to warn of potential eligibility issues.
