2 killed in shooting at Hazard Community and Technical College

Two people were killed and one critically injured in a shooting at Hazard Community and Technical College in southeastern Kentucky on Tuesday, according to the school’s website and the Kentucky Community and Technical College System’s Twitter account (@KCTCS_News).

Classes are canceled for HCTC on Wednesday. Local police were holding a press conference at 9:30 p.m.

HCTC President Dr. Steve Greiner said in a statement that police do not think the college was specifically targeted.

Community colleges across the state are affiliated with KCTCS, including Bluegrass Community and Technical College in Lexington.
