Tyler Ulis, the 38th-ranked prospect in ESPN’s Class of 2014 basketball rankings, has committed to UK.

The four-star point guard from Marian Catholic High School in Chicago Heights, Ill., announced his decision at his high school’s football game on Friday, Sept. 13.

Ulis was in Lexington for UK’s Alumni Charity Game on Sept. 9, marking his final official visit to any school. He officially visited Michigan State on Sept. 6 and Iowa on Aug. 30, according to 24/7 Sports. Michigan State and Iowa were the only other two schools on Ulis’s list of potential schools.

Last season, Ulis averaged 21.9 points and 4.8 assists per game.

UK offered a scholarship to Ulis on Aug. 16, just eight days before 5-star point guard Emmanuel Mudiay announced his intentions to play at Southern Methodist University. Mudiay is the No. 5 prospect in the Class of 2014, according to ESPN.

He joins Karl Towns, Jr. as the Cats’ only 2014 commitments.
