A dance showcase in the Movement Studio of the Fine Arts Building may add additional performances due to expectations of large crowds, said Ariella Brown, a visiting dance lecturer at UK.
Spring Selections, a dance showcase featuring original compositions choreographed by dance minors and other students, is free and premieres on April 11 at 4 p.m.
The performance is the first ever student-choreographed dance showcase hosted by the UK Department of Theatre. About 10 students worked to choreograph the various dances.
Megan Jellison, a theatre senior who will be featured in a Spring Selections dance, said her performance includes contact improvisation, a dance style that uses physical contact as the starting point for a dance that is made up on the spot.
