Not guilty pleas entered for shooting suspects

Attorneys for two of three suspects in the shooting death of UK student and Kernel photo editor Jonathan Krueger entered not guilty pleas Thursday on the suspects’ behalf.
Efrain Diaz, Justin Delone Smith and Roman Gonzalez Jr. were all charged with murder and two counts of first-degree robbery, according to court documents.

Diaz and Smith’s attorneys entered not guilty pleas at their arraignments in Fayette County Circuit Court.
Smith was also charged with tampering with physical evidence, and fleeing and evading, according to court documents.
Krueger was shot and killed during a robbery April 17 on the 400 block of East Maxwell Street while walking home.
