Beer and cookies are already appealing enough by themselves, but together, they can build a powerful beverage-dessert combination.

The Flight Night: West Sixth Beer & Girl Scout Cookies event will combine the taste of local beer and cookies, and starts at 5 p.m. on Thursday and goes until closing time on Friday at 1 a.m.

“We have weekly ‘Flight Nights’ where we feature the beers of a particular brewery. Once a month or so, we’ll do a variation on the event and partner up with a local business,” Lexington Beerworks owner Michael Vincent wrote in an email to the Kernel. “This week we have four different styles of craft beer that pair up very nicely with four different Girl Scout Cookies.”

By buying the $12 “Flight & a Bite” special offer, customers will be able to taste four unique pairings, starting with a citrusy West Sixth Second Fiddle Simcoe IPA and Lemonades cookie. Then, the flavors of peanut butter and chocolate are combined in a West Sixth Cocoa Porter and Peanut Butter Patties.

Next is the mix of West Sixth Snake Imperial Stout and Thin Mints, and it all ends with West Sixth Bourbon Barrel Old Ale and a Caramel deLites.

“We have enough beer and cookies to serve a couple hundred customers,” wrote Vincent, who recommended costumers try to avoid their busiest time, which is usually from 5 to 8 p.m., if possible. “In years past we have had dozens of people come out to try the pairing. This year we expect over a hundred.”
