UK and one of its foundations are taking a former UK medical student to court after he submitted open records requests. 

The Lexington Herald-Leader reported UK and Kentucky Medical Services Foundations are appealing a decision from Attorney General Andy Beshear’s office that said the foundation was a public entity and should turn over some documents. 

Lachin Hatemi, the former medical student, requested information about the foundation’s financial records, according to the Herald-Leader. UK and the foundation argued the foundation is a private entity and should not give the information.
