The UK Student Activities Board is hosting a street fair for students to enjoy and get some much needed time off to relax and have fun.

The SAB’s and STAT/Team Wildcat street fair is Thursday, Oct. 6 where students who attend can get free food and enjoy many different activities right before homecoming weekend.

This is the third time the SAB has put on this street fair with the number of students that attend increase substantially every year. They hope to continue increasing this number to get more students out to enjoy this event.

Every year they expect more students to attend with numbers increasing from last year. Turn out plays a factor in the success of the street fair and the SAB is looking forward to the amount of students that will hopefully attend this street fair.

“Street Fair is very anticipated. Last year we had way more students than the year before,” SAB Public Relations Director Kaelin Massey said.

Students who attend do not have to pay a cost to enjoy the food, entertainment or games that are provided. It is free for all.

Once there, students can expect to have inflatables, food and entertainment from DJ Warren Peace. This is an event to introduce the new students and prep for the homecoming weekend here at UK.

The UKSAB will be providing free t-shirts to students who attend that they can wear to the UK football game Saturday. Matching shirts will bring the ideals of homecoming and family weekend together at the height of the weekend of the UK vs. Vanderbilt football game.

“Its a way to show student unity,” Massey said.

With midterms right around the corner, students will be able to look forward to many free opportunities to hang out and meet other students along with free activities and merchandise for this upcoming weekend.

The SAB street fair will be outside the W.T. Young Library from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
