Bar Louie is the newest hangout spot at Fayette Mall

“Eat, Drink and Be Happy” is the motto for the newest restaurant at Fayette Mall. The atmosphere and food were the best parts about this restaurant, but the service needs some improvement.

When customers first enter the restaurant, the atmosphere is very casual yet sophisticated. It’s a place customers can go to enjoy themselves after a long day at work, so most people are still dressed in business casual attire.

The restaurant is fairly large and has many tables, booths, high tops, a bar area, outside seating, and it even had an area with a couch for customers to enjoy. TVs playing sports games cover a large area of the restaurant, allowing customers to enjoy watching with their friends.

The restaurant also seemed clean, which is always a good sign. Servers were good about pre-bussing and cleaning their tables quickly after a customer leaves.

The food is a bit on the pricey side. Most items on the menu don’t go below $10, excluding the drink menu. The restaurant does feature a deal on burgers on Tuesdays where the burgers range from $5 to $10.99.

The menu features everything from salads to burgers to pasta, and it was delicious. The wings were different when it came to the breading. It didn’t taste as deep-fried as traditional wings and the BBQ sauce had a bit of a kick to it.

The best part about the entire meal was the macaroni. The noodles are large curly noodles soaked in cheese with breading sprinkled on the top.

The only problem with this restaurant was the service.  The food came out quickly, but out of order. One person at the table ordered a soup and pot stickers but specifically asked for the soup to come out first, but it didn’t come out until after she had received her pot stickers. The server also asked the tables if they would like refills, which should take no more than two minutes, but the server didn’t return to the table until after everyone was almost done with their food.

It’s hard to tell why the service was poor at Bar Louie, but one can hope it was just a fluke of an experience and next time around things will go better. Despite the service, the food was great and the atmosphere was unlike any other. It is definitely a good place to check out.
