UK Police sent a campus-wide email Monday to alert campus about a report of sexual abuse that the department received.

On May 2, 2018, which was in the midst of UK’s finals week, a student was sexually abused around 8 p.m. at the Gatton College of Business and Economics building.

The female student had met a male known only to her as “Mo” through the app Whisper, which is an anonymous form of social media. When they met in person, the suspect “pulled the student to his lap, grabbed her inappropriately and kissed her,” according to the email.

The only description of the suspected male is that he is about 6’3.

Finals week and the spring semester ended on Friday, May 4.

As noted in the email, UK Police issued the crime bulletin with this information in accordance with the “Timely Notice” provision of the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Police and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998.
