Reid Travis, a graduate transfer from Stanford, announced his commitment to the UK basketball team on Wednesday. The 6-8, 240-pound forward decided to transfer from Stanford after he graduated.

He played in 35 games for the Cardinal last season, where he averaged 19.5 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. He was considered one of the top players in the Pac-12, and is now the most experienced player on Kentucky’s roster.

Travis’ final two choices for school after he withdrew his name from the NBA Draft and announced his intent to transfer were defending national champion Villanova and Kentucky. He visited Lexington on Tuesday, announcing the next day his intent to become a Wildcat without his originally scheduled visit to Villanova.

Travis will be immediately eligible to play, where he’ll line up in the front court alongside returners P.J. Washington and Nick Richards, as well as newcomer EJ Montgomery. Travis’ career scoring average is higher than that of any current player on UK’s roster.
