After the decommitment from four-star Frankfort wide receiver Wandale Robinson, the quality of the UK recruiting class dipped before a commitment from four-star Ballard (Louisville) linebacker Jared Casey.

Casey committed via Twitter at about 5 p.m. ET. The 6-3, 232-pound linebacker (that’s the weight he announced last night on his Twitter) grades as the seventh-best player in the state on most recruiting services. He was also considering Oregon and Louisville.

The Cats’ recruiting class is now ranked 27th in the nation by Rivals after the addition of Casey. He’s their fourth four-star commitment of this class, and 20th commitment overall. He’s the 11th defensive player in the class.
