11 days after UK football’s Blue/White Spring game, quarter back Gunnar Hoak has announced he will be entering the transfer portal. He is set to graduate in May, and per NCAA graduate transfer rules, would be eligible to play for another school in the fall.

“After much thought and consideration, I have decided to put my name in the NCAA transfer portal,” Hoak said on Twitter. “With graduation coming up next week, I knew I had an important decision to make for my future including my football and academic careers.

“I would like to thank Coach Stoops and the UK staff for understanding that I need to see if there are any other options for me at this time in my career.”

Hoak is the only other quarterback except Terry Wilson on the current UK roster that has experience playing in a college game. He completed 13 of 26 passes for 167 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in five games last season.

This summer UK will add quarterbacks Nik Scalzo and Amani Gilmore to the roster, both three-star recruits.
