Kentucky men’s basketball will host the Georgetown Hoyas on Thursday, Oct. 30 for an exhibition game UK Athletics announced.
The Hoyas, a member of the Big East, become the Wildcats second confirmed exhibition opponent, following behind the Purdue Boilermakers, which Kentucky will host a little less than a week prior on Oct. 24.
Led by rising third-year Head Coach Ed Cooley, Georgetown finished last season with an 18-16 overall record and an 8-12 record in conference play, earning the No. 7 seed in the Big East Tournament before getting beat by No. 10 DePaul in the first round.
The Hoyas competed in the first-ever College Basketball Crown tournament after failing to qualify for the NCAA Tournament and defeated the Washington State Cougars in the first round before getting bested by eventual champions Nebraska in the second round.
Kentucky has taken a step up in terms of its level of competition in exhibition games, bringing in higher intensity opponents compared to the two Division-II programs that it faced last season in Kentucky Wesleyan and Minnesota State.
The time of the contest along with broadcasting information will be announced at a later date.
