Kentucky STUNT travelled to Nashville, Tennessee, this past weekend where it swept the Trevecca Nazarene Tournament with a 23-3 win against Maryville and a 21-9 win against Hope International.
The wins extended the Cat’s record to 24-1 on the season.
In game one of the doubleheader, the Wildcats started strong by winning all eight possible points in the first half during partner stunts and pyramids and tosses, leading the Cats to lead 8-0 at the half.
The third quarter was where the Cats faltered slightly, winning the first two points of the jumps and tumbling quarter before losing and tying the following two points.
The Wildcats bounced back, however, winning all 12 possible points of the final quarter compared to Maryville’s one point.
Game two saw the Wildcats’ win broke Hope International’s undefeated streak, where the teams split the first two points of the first quarter, followed by a Hope International win and the final point of the first quarter being shared.
Hope International led 3-2 at the first quarter, however the Wildcats won all four points of the second, giving them a quick turnaround to lead 6-3 at the half.
The third showed the Cats taking two points and tying the other two, and the Cats’ victory was rounded out by a 11-point gain in the final quarter compared to Hope’s four.
The overall top scorers against Maryville for the Cats were stunter Alayna Loschiavo, tumbler Rhyley Pitts and overall scorer Shayla Nguyen with 44 points total.
Stunter Peyton Anderson, tumbler Emma Green and overall scorer Isabella Doria brought the Cats 60 total points in the game two of the double header.
