Kentucky women’s golf finished sixth with a 30-over-par score of 870 in the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational at Finley Golf Club.
Head Coach Golda Borst rolled out a lineup of senior Marta López EchevarrÍa, sophomore Cathryn Brown, freshman C.A. Carter, Elin Pudas Remler and Karlie Campbell.
Pudas Remler notched her second top 10 finish of the season with a 3-over score of 213.
The invitational also marked Campbell’s first time participating in the lineup.
After round one, Kentucky was sitting atop the leaderboard in first place.
Pudas Remler and Campbell were tied for sixth with an even par score of 70. Brown and Carter were also tied, but with a 2-over-par 72. López EchevarrÍa shot a 77 to finish at 7-over-par.
Day two saw the Wildcats fall to sixth place with a 17-over-par score of 293, which was tied with host North Carolina.
López EchevarrÍa shot a 1-under-par 69 to lead the Wildcats on day two. Pudas Remler was 1-over-par 71, Brown shot 5-over-par 75, Campbell was 8-over-par 78 and Carter shot a 12-over-par 82.
The Wildcats finished day three with the same amount of strokes as day two.
Kentucky stayed at sixth following the third and final round of the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational.
López EchevarrÍa led the charge again with a 1-over 71, Pudas Remler shot 2-over 72, Brown and Campbell shot 5-over 75 and Carter shot 7-over 77 culminating with a 30-over-par final score to finish sixth.
The Wildcats finished with a combined 35 birdies. Pudas Remler led the way with ten total birdies including three in the final round while Campbell finished with eight birdies. López EchevarrÍa and Brown both had seven while Carter finished with three.
The Wildcats will be back in action on Monday, Oct. 28, in the fall iteration of the Charles Schwab Women’s Collegiate Invitational at Ridglea Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.
