Amanda Whites, primary dance teacher and owner of the Kentucky Dance Academy in Frankfort, Kentucky, helps children gain confidence through dance. Whites has been teaching dance full-time for about 10 years, and works with children of all ages and backgrounds. She said one of her favorite classes to teach is her special needs dance class, which includes children who have cerebral palsy, are on the autism spectrum or have something that keeps them from engaging in typical extracurricular activities. She said she enjoys giving these children opportunities and watching them grow
