Kentucky Men’s Soccer (1-2-4) ended its match in a scoreless draw versus No. 6 West Virginia Friday night on the road at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
The match marked the fourth match of Kentucky’s last five in which it was unable to score a single goal for the entire 90 minutes.
Coming off a goalless draw against Georgia Southern last Friday, the Cats came into the contest looking to finally get back in the win column as they had failed to do so in their previous five matches, drawing three and losing two.
During the first-half of action, both teams fired their fair share of shots on goal, however, neither team could beat the opposing side’s goalkeeper.
After the half-time whistle sounded, both teams headed to the locker room scoreless.
The second half produced the same scoreless result. The match featured 23 shots combined for both sides. Only three of West Virginia’s efforts made it on goal while the Wildcats were only able to get two on target.
Kentucky returns to the pitch on Friday, October 4, on the road against South Carolina. That match will kick off at 7 p.m. ET.
